Adopting a Retired Golden

At Crystal Creek Kennels we often receive questions on how you could adopt one of our retired Goldens.

We understand that sometimes an older dog, one which has out grown their ‘puppy stage' would be a more suitable option for your lifestyle.

Re-homing our retired Goldens is an important decision for us as we too have grown to love having them and spent everyday with them, sometimes since birth. All our Goldens have also lived amongst other dogs and have been well socialised and around people their whole lives.

Even though this maybe the case, some older dogs may have developed their own personal habits and characteristics, some good, some not so.

Therefore, we ask that you please be mindful of this and consider that you may need to work with them a little to offer some positive reassurance. For example, they may still dig in the garden, and not like that noisy power tool, things that a puppy would have already grown up around and already become accustomed to.

Therefore we always ask that you consider whether you are both time committed and emotionally ready before choosing to have one of our retired Goldens join your family.

When considering re-homing one of our retired mums or dads, please contact us in order to help us assist you in matching you with the right Golden for you.

The fee for adopting one of our retired Goldens will range from $4,000 to $6,000, this will be subject to age and history and the dog will come desexed and with a full vet-health-check and all the necessary C.A.R transfer documentation.
